At the end of the year, we all get the opportunity of playing armchair quarterback, but for many Americans, it’s safe to assume that they not only don’t know what happened in the game (or who the players are)… They don’t know there even was a game in the first place. No Virginia, life isn’t just MSNBC, Rachel Maddow, and American Idler… And there is no Santa Claus, its just George Soros.
So in case you’re just tuning into to the play by play for the first time, let me get you caught up to speed.
America is basically bankrupt; David Rockefeller’s Trilateral Commission is in control of the government, and planning multiple wars (sorry, peacekeeping missions) in places like Pakistan, Afghanistan (surge), Central America, and Africa. Russia and China are serious pissed, and we are careening over the cliff to the Newer World Order. OK?
Other than that, everything is chill at the local mall, and the Super Bowl will be played as scheduled.
2008: We lost one of the greatest comedians who ever stalked a stage, George Carlin. He will be missed. It’s rare for a comedian these days to break with political correctness, or even make a political joke unless it’s about the dumbass n Chief, George W.
Well Carlin ol pal… say high to Bill Hicks, Charles Bukowski, John Belushi, Richard Pryor, Andy Kaufman, and Lenny Bruce for us. Buy Betty Page a dink. Betty thanks for the Uhh er …memories. John Lee Hooker we are gonna miss you too dude.
2008: The year of staggering oil prices, wicked unemployment (but record hiring for the Government) Iraq; out of sight out of mind, global warming and then global freezing, Sarah Palin’s daughter’s baby’s daddy, and O’bomba, who never once sent a shiver up my leg… Only up my spine.
What a year, and as my old friend Lil Russ, Tim Russert used to say… What a Country.
The END OF THE BEGINNING of a REVOLUTION
‘Those who control the past, control the future; Those who control the future, control the present; Those who control the present, control the past.’
George Orwell ( 1984)
What do you do when all else fails?
For me, and many like me, 2008 was indeed a reset year. Some who love freedom would call it a failure.
But if we learn from our recent past, we can understand the present, and lose control in the future. (By “losing control” I mean getting rid of it.)
The year began with shining optimism due to our combined efforts in 2007.
What we learned from 2007 was that: MONEY + ATTENDENCE + ACTIVISM = SUCCESS. The funds that accumulated around the Ron Paul Revolution, the attendance that was witnessed at Ron Paul Rallies, and the activism all of that evolved into… Set us up nicely for 2008. After the “apparent” failure of the Campaign, which swooped down on the rEVOLution post Super Tuesday, it seemed that we had been struck lame with a collective thump. The energy we had created was not killed but only transformed by our lying corporate media into Obama mania. Something had to be done to cut off the message that was waking up so many of our youths, and with a billion dollars, along with constant propagandizing of “Hope” and “Change”… Our youth was largely hypnotized into belief. I guess you know the rest… I called it the “Mendacity of Hope”.
So the year took on a new flavor. The prevailing formula in 08 came down to this:
Ego + Segregation (sectarian infighting, ideology, and dogma) + Slactivism = Failure.
Ego is certainly a human response to the success of 2007, and the phenomena of the revolution behind Rep. Ron Paul spotlighted the talent and imagination we uniquely possess…. BUT, what makes a revolution move forward and grow, is a body of passionate people who do what they do because they are part of something that is bigger than themselves. Face it, we were successful in 2007 because we worked together, not because of any one person. (Despite what that one person will tell you)
So 2008 bore that out. This will have to be understood and corrected for 2009.
“First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
08 also showed evidence that the old adage, “If you can’t beat em, pretend to be them” is alive and well. The message of 07 was usurped by the mainstream, especially as the global economy tanked. Hearing Rush Limbaugh talking about fiat currency, and reading news from Lew Rockwell is just one example. How many times did we hear economists say, Ron Paul was right, when interviewing him post campaign about the economy?
Glenn Beck, Neal Boortz, and many other Neo Con figureheads began posing as (small l) libertarians, feigning distain for the CFR (Counsel on Foreign Relations) RNC and DNC nominations in order to save some semblance of credibility.
Merriam Webster online dictionary defines Hypocrisy as such:
1: a feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not ; especially : the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion
Whether they mimicked our positions to steal our thunder or to exclude themselves from the firing line, can be debated, but as a strategy it seems to have worked. In 09 it may work against them, as they will be required to back up such rhetoric.
When we look back at 2008 as a nation, the year will be remembered for two things:
Obama becomes our first black president backed by hundreds of millions of dollars contributed by Wall Street, and Wall Street corruption leads to a near total collapse of the economy. Both of these events will be used to usher in a “New Order”, and to centralize power under international criminal cabals.
Interestingly enough, the ground work we laid in 07, and those who did carry on this work in 08…Has carried us through.
The powers that be are still working diligently to destroy the revolution, but are showing us just how serious they may take us. Pressure to acquiesce to the overwhelming demands of the people have already given us some special victories in 2009.
The defeat of the TTC (Trans Texas Corridor) is certainly one of those. (You remember, the NAFTA Corridor that doesn’t exist according to Obama and others.) Here’s a clip of Keith Obamamann making fun of Lou Dobbs for discussing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWzCoJtEtgU
Here is the recent story admitting it: http://www.statesman.com/news/content/news/stories/local/01/07/0107corridor.html
Here in Texas we just have to do some driving to actually SEE IT! In Minnesota land is being taken from residents to build it, (I have this first hand from friends and listeners who are losing their land there.) Here’s a link to documents: http://www.politicsinminnesota.com/2007/dec/14/pim-exclusive-superrondo-ii-new-nasco-nafta-superhighway-docs-released-mndot
Not to turn this “Year in Review” into an essay on cognitive dissonance, or the NAFTA Highway, but to illustrate the fact that our hard work is beginning to PAY OFF for freedom.
In Austin we defeated state wide ID checkpoints at the end of 2008 and didn’t even have to lift a finger. Just the mere threat that we would present a fight convinced the Legislature to not approve it. Also, in Austin the practice of forcing DUI suspects to give their blood (absent of the 5th Amendment of the US Constitution) has been suspended… To the dismay of our California imported Chief of Police Art Assevedo, who will now seek private funds to continue such vampiric practices. (Not gonna happen Ace!)
The ether of 2008 is wearing off, and citizens have recovered from the long, sleep inducing, media manipulating coma that the Presidential selection process created. Real news may actually be reported again but don’t look for much of that from the Shill Media. That’s where WE come in.
I must congratulate all of my peers in the freedom revolution whom are too numerous to mention in this article… For staying the course, and keeping the rubber on the road. They certainly were NOT “Slactivists” and pushed on with little help or glory.
Join them NOW wherever you find them.
I will always remember 2008 as somewhat of a living nightmare, and will add it up to,
“What doesn’t kill us will only serve to make us stronger”.
It is this STRENGTH that will carry us through 2009, and that will give us a year to be proud of.
I can’t imagine what will happen if, as a nation, we stay asleep
